The Palazzo Pant
To continue my summer looks and collaboration with Victoria West Photography, I decided to feature the ever so comfy, and ever so stylish, Palazzo pants.
Introduced by CoCo Chanel in the 1930's, these trousers traditionally feature light fabric, wide legs and they flare-out from the waist to the ankle. They were popular on the set of Hollywood films and TV shows thanks to stars like Katharine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich. "In the years before pants were acceptable wear for women, the Palazzo pant was a popular option for resort wear or lounging, and in the 1960s crossed into evening wear as they were a chic alternative to the skirt styles of the day." (Illustrated fashion alphabet)
Today, the style is popular in the spring and summer months because they are light weight and beautiful. Since they are long but flowy, they are perfect for both the workplace or fun in the sun. Much like the printed shorts I featured previously, Palazzo pants come in a wide range of colors and patterns.
I scored my black and white Palazzo pants from Old Navy (on sale!) and paired them with a lace cami from Forever 21. My crossbody is from Micheal Kors and you can buy it here.
I have to thank Victoria West Photography, again, for taking these amazing photos. Stay tuned for my next summer look!
